DRDO Extends AMCA Bid Deadline to October 30
India is developing a new stealth fighter aircraft called the AMCA.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation designed the aircraft with its Aeronautical Development Agency.
Companies were asked to submit plans to build the first prototypes.
Some companies requested more time to collect supplier prices and other documents.
The deadline is now October 30, 2026.
The bids will be opened the next day and evaluated before a winner is chosen.
The winner will build five flying prototypes and a test aircraft.
The first prototype was originally expected near the end of 2027, but later deadlines may be affected.
The Aeronautical Development Agency extended the AMCA RFP submission deadline to October 30, 2026.
Bids will open on October 31 to select the Development-cum-Production Partner.
The ₹15,000 crore programme involves five flying prototypes and one structural test specimen.
Tata Advanced Systems, an L&T-led consortium, and a Bharat Forge-led consortium are bidding.
The winning entity will establish an AMCA production facility near Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh.
