Collector Urges Telugu Preservation and Sports Promotion
Officials held a celebration for Telugu Language Day and National Sports Day.
Collector A Shyam Prasad asked people to protect Telugu language and culture.
He remembered Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy Pantulu, who is associated with Telugu language development.
He also remembered hockey player Dhyan Chand.
The Collector said studying in Telugu helped him pass important civil service examinations.
He asked offices to use more Telugu.
He also encouraged students to learn special arts such as Avadhanam.
He said sports can teach discipline and leadership, alongside school studies.

The appeal came during joint Telugu Language Day and National Sports Day celebrations at the Collectorate in Puttaparthi.
The event commemorated Telugu scholar Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy Pantulu and hockey legend Dhyan Chand.
Shyam Prasad said Telugu-medium education helped him clear the IAS and Group-1 examinations.
He called for greater use of Telugu in administration, promotion of Avadhanam, and participation in sports alongside academics.
