ACB Books Assistant Town Planner, Wife Over ₹2.78-Crore Assets
There are special police teams whose job is to make sure government workers are honest.
One such team, called the ACB, checks if these workers have more money than they should.
They looked at a town planner named Vikas Kisan Dhekale and his wife Bhagyashree.
The team found that the family had about 2.78 crore rupees more than he legally earned.
That extra money is more than 18 percent of what he should have.
The ACB thinks he got this money in dishonest ways.
They also believe his wife helped him hide and collect the money.
The team even thinks fake papers were shown to them during the check.
Because of this, the ACB has now registered a case against both of them.
The police looked at his money from 1999 to 2025 before taking action.
Now the case will be investigated further to find out the truth.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a case against assistant town planner Vikas Kisan Dhekale and his wife Bhagyashree Dhekale for alleged disproportionate assets worth ₹2.78 crore.
The assets reportedly amounted to 18 per cent more than Dhekale's known sources of income.
The ACB examined Dhekale's assets and financial transactions for the period between August 17, 1999 and March 20, 2025.
The agency alleged Dhekale acquired the assets through corrupt means, that his wife encouraged and supported him, and that fake receipts were submitted during the inquiry.
The case follows an earlier disproportionate-assets investigation against then Joint Director of Town Planning Hanumant Nazirkar, in which assets worth around ₹55 crore were seized.
A case was registered against Dhekale at the Baramati City police station after a trap operation on March 20, 2025.
