Nitin Nabin Chairs First Meeting of BJP State In-Charges
The Bharatiya Janata Party held a meeting for leaders responsible for its state and Union Territory organizations.
Nitin Nabin led the meeting in New Delhi.
B L Santhosh helped lead it.
The leaders had recently been given new responsibilities.
Party sources said representatives from all 28 states and eight Union Territories attended.
Several senior BJP leaders also joined the meeting.
Some leaders were assigned to oversee states such as Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar and Gujarat.
The meeting took place after the assignments were announced on September 23.
BJP president Nitin Nabin chaired the first meeting of newly appointed state and Union Territory in-charges and co-in-charges in New Delhi on September 29.
The meeting was co-presided over by BJP national general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh.
Party sources said representatives appointed for all 28 states and eight Union Territories attended.
Several senior BJP leaders, including Ram Madhav, Baijayant Jay Panda, Smriti Irani and Vinod Tawde, participated.
The appointments, announced on September 23, included assignments for Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Karnataka, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand.
