BJP Rejigs State In-Charges, Assigns Irani and Madhav Key States
The BJP changed some of the people responsible for managing its state organizations.
It announced in-charges and co-in-charges for all 28 states and eight Union territories.
Smriti Irani was given responsibility for Haryana and Chhattisgarh.
Most reports said Ram Madhav was given responsibility for Tamil Nadu.
One report also listed Madhav for Uttarakhand, but said the party had not clarified whether this was intentional or a mistake.
Vinod Tawde was assigned Uttar Pradesh, and Baijayant Jay Panda was assigned Maharashtra.
The BJP also changed who leads parts of its communication and media departments.
The appointments were announced by BJP president Nitin Nabin ahead of elections in some states.
