BJP Reshuffles State Charges Ahead of Key Elections
The BJP has chosen new leaders to manage its party work in different states and Union Territories.
The appointments were made by BJP president Nitin Nabin.
Smriti Irani will look after Chhattisgarh and Haryana.
Ram Madhav will manage Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand.
Some of these states will hold elections soon or in the coming years.
Vinod Tawde will have two jobs in Uttar Pradesh, including helping lead the election effort.
The changes also give organisational roles to several leaders who recently returned to or advanced within the party.
The BJP says these assignments will help organise its work and prepare for future elections.

Smriti Irani was assigned Chhattisgarh and Haryana after returning to the party’s organisational team.
Former RSS leader Ram Madhav was given responsibility for Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand.
Vinod Tawde was named both BJP in-charge and election in-charge for Uttar Pradesh.
Other appointments included Baijayant Panda in Maharashtra, Biplab Deb in Madhya Pradesh, and Sunil Bansal in West Bengal and Telangana.
