Parents Group Seeks Cancellation of Andhra Pradesh MBBS Admissions
A parents’ group says some medical students were not given the seats they should have received.
It says reserved-category students with better ranks than the general cutoff should have been counted in the Open Competition category.
The group says this happened in two regions of Andhra Pradesh.
It identified 43 such students in the AU region and 27 in the SVU region.
The group says the admissions followed GO-102 instead of the approach required under GO-151.

The group also referred to Supreme Court rulings supporting its interpretation of the rules.

The Andhra Pradesh Medicos Parents Association demanded cancellation of the 2026 MBBS admissions and fresh admissions under GO-151.
The association alleged that reserved-category students were wrongly denied Open Competition seats during admissions conducted by Dr NTR University of Health Sciences.
In the AU region, 43 reserved-category students reportedly ranked above the Open Competition cutoff of 71,547 but were allotted reserved-category seats.
In the SVU region, 27 reserved-category students reportedly ranked above the Open Competition cutoff of 94,966 but were similarly allotted reserved-category seats.
The association blamed GO-102 for the alleged injustice and called for its withdrawal, along with changes to GO-151 that would not disadvantage reserved-category students.
