A Division Bench headed by Justice Lisa Gill heard a PIL filed by Bharatha Chaitanya Yuvajana Party president Bode Ramachandra Yadav challenging G.O. Ms. No. 102, dated July 30, 2026.
Petitioner's counsel K. Madhavi argued that permitting web options in every counselling phase could deprive meritorious reserved-category students of open-category seats.
The university, through counsel T.V. Sridevi, said restricting web options to a single phase adversely affected meritorious students; the matter was adjourned for further hearing.
The Bench observed that no affected student had approached the court and directed the university to explain changes made to the earlier counselling procedure.
