Tumakuru Node to be developed as industrial manufacturing hub
The government wants to build a big area in Tumakuru, a place in India, where factories can be made.
This area is called an industrial hub.
The government has set aside 1,736 acres of land for it.
They hope companies will invest about Rs 7,000 crore there.
This could create more than 88,000 jobs for people.
A company called Jindal Aluminium will be one of the first big investors.
The project is part of a bigger plan to build factories and cities between places like Bengaluru and Chennai.
The government hopes the whole plan will create 14 lakh jobs.
The Tumakuru project should be finished by 2027.
Karnataka has earmarked 1,736 acres to develop Tumakuru as a major industrial manufacturing hub, expecting Rs 7,000 crore in investment.
The Tumakuru Node of the Bengaluru–Chennai Industrial Corridor has achieved 30 per cent physical progress and 20 per cent financial progress.
The project is expected to generate more than 88,000 jobs and is scheduled for completion in 2027.
Jindal Aluminium is the anchor investor with 151 acres allotted, while 300 acres are set aside for a Japan Industrial Township and 200 acres for MSMEs.
The broader central initiative covers 11 industrial corridors and 20 smart cities across 13 states, with an estimated cost of Rs 50,759 crore.
