Kalyan Police Arrest Three Wanted Accused, Seize ₹8 Lakh MD
Early on Wednesday morning, police officers in Kalyan went to a neighborhood called Ambivali to look for people who had run away from the law.
They searched an area called the Irani settlement and found three people who were 'wanted,' meaning they were supposed to be arrested earlier but had escaped.
Two of the people they caught were women and one was a man.
The police found a harmful drug called mephedrone, also known as MD, with one of the men.
The drug weighed 40 grams, and police say it is worth about ₹8 lakh.
One of the accused was wanted in four different cases, and another was linked to a serious organized-crime case.
In total, the three people were connected to six cases involving things like theft and cheating.
Police also took one accused to court, and the judge allowed police to keep him in custody until August 15.
The operation shows police working to catch people who may have harmed the community.

Police recovered 40 grams of mephedrone (MD) worth ₹8 lakh from accused Mohammed Gulam Hussain Jafri alias Shah Rukh.
The arrested were Shama Tehjeeb Irani (38), Mohammed Gulam Hussain Jafri alias Shah Rukh (35) and Nafisa Hashmi Irani (33).
The three accused were wanted in a total of six cases involving offences including forming unlawful gangs, theft, cheating and forcible theft.
A fresh case was registered against Jafri under the NDPS Act, and a court granted police custody till August 15.
