IMD Warns of Heavy Rainfall Across Several States

India’s weather agency has warned that several states may receive a lot of rain.

The rain is linked to a low-pressure area near Gangetic West Bengal.

Odisha and Chhattisgarh could get extremely heavy rain in some places on August 31.

East Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh may also get heavy rain over several days.

Jharkhand and Bihar are expected to receive heavy rain on some days.

The rain could continue in parts of the region into early September.

Strong, gusty winds are expected near the Odisha, West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts.

The sea in the North Bay of Bengal may become rough, so conditions could be dangerous for people at sea.
