East Central Railway Begins Drive for Safe Drinking Water
East Central Railway has started a special campaign to make sure people have clean drinking water.
The campaign covers railway stations, offices and residential colonies.
Workers are checking tanks, taps, coolers, filters and pipes.
Health inspectors are testing water for chlorine, bacteria and chemicals.
They have already completed many tests in several railway divisions.
Samples are also being collected in the Samastipur and Pt.
Deen Dayal Upadhyaya divisions.
If inspectors find a problem, railway staff are expected to fix it quickly.
The checks will continue until all five divisions have been inspected.
East Central Railway launched a campaign to check drinking water quality for passengers and railway employees.
Inspections cover water tanks, coolers, taps, filters, distribution points and pipelines at stations and residential colonies.
Health inspectors are conducting residual chlorine, bacterial culture and chemical tests against prescribed standards.
Danapur, Dhanbad and Sonpur divisions conducted 180, 980 and 346 tests respectively, according to the railway.
The campaign will continue across all five divisions until water points are inspected and deficiencies corrected.
