Auto, Taxi Drivers' Union Holds Dharna Ahead of Indefinite Strike

People who drive auto-rickshaws and taxis in a place called Telangana are not happy.

They say the government promised to help them but did not keep its promises.

So they gathered together in a park called Indira Park to protest.

A protest like this is called a dharna.

They told the government that if their demands are not met, they will stop working from August 23.

They want the government to give them 12,000 rupees every year as help.

They also want a special welfare board to look after drivers.

And they want an accident insurance plan that gives 5 lakh rupees to continue.

The drivers hope the government will listen to them before the strike begins.
