Manipur Resumes Inter-State Buses to Ease Travel Burden

Manipur has started inter-state bus services again after they were stopped during a long period of ethnic violence.

The buses travel from Imphal through Dimapur to Guwahati.

More than 200 people used the buses on Saturday.

Officials said the journey was safe and there were no reported problems.

The Chief Minister said buses would help students and people travelling for medical care.

They could also help people who cannot afford expensive flights.

At a school in Kakching, the Chief Minister opened improved buildings and new science laboratories.

Roads and a bridge are also being developed to improve travel and education facilities.
