The group said a broker brought them into India through Jaflong in Meghalaya on October 5.
Sarma said the broker allegedly promised jobs in Guwahati and took 7,000 Bangladeshi Taka and a mobile phone from the group.
The nine adults were allegedly told that a company owner would pay 20,000 rupees per person, to be deducted from their wages.
Sarma said authorities suspect human trafficking and illegal migration and are investigating.
