Punjab CM Transfers Raksha Bandhan Aid to Satkar Sakhis
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann gave money to women who help other women join a government scheme.
These workers are called Satkar Sakhis.
They received a total of Rs 52.20 crore on Raksha Bandhan.
The government says they helped more than 75 lakh women register.
So far, 76.11 lakh women have reportedly registered.
Eligible women receive money directly in their bank accounts.
Most women receive Rs 1,000, while Scheduled Caste women receive Rs 1,500.
The government says the programme will continue while the Aam Aadmi Party government remains in power in Punjab.

The Punjab government has set a target of registering 1 crore women and allocated Rs 9,300 crore for the scheme.
