Chhattisgarh Releases Mahtari Vandana Instalment Ahead Of Raksha Bandhan
Raksha Bandhan Gift In Chhattisgarh: Rs 1,000 Disbursed To Eligible Women Under Mahtari Vandana Yojana · NDTV

The Chhattisgarh government gives money each month to eligible women through the Mahtari Vandana Yojana.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai released the scheme’s 31st payment on August 25.

Each eligible woman receives Rs 1,000 in her bank account.

The payment was released early so women could receive it before Raksha Bandhan.

The money is sent directly through a bank transfer.

Married, widowed, divorced and abandoned women can qualify if they meet the rules.

Women can use the money in any way they choose.

The government is also preparing a proposal to include three additional groups, but that proposal still needs approval.
