CCLA Orders Takeover of Disputed Bhoodan Lands in Suryapet
Officials have ordered the government to take control of 170 acres of disputed Bhoodan land in Mellachervu.
The land is part of a larger survey area totaling 631 acres.
The dispute has continued since 2009 and involved inquiries by the Lokayukta and the High Court.
The Chief Commissioner of Land Administration later investigated the matter.
Because of the dispute, the entire survey area was put on a restricted property list.
This made it difficult for farmers to register their land or obtain bank loans.
Farmers want the government to correct the records and remove their land from the restricted list.
Officials said they would act according to the order and work to resolve the issue.
The CCLA directed the Suryapet Collector to take possession of 170 acres of Bhoodan land in Mellachervu’s Survey No. 1057.
Officials were instructed to correct Bhoodan records and update the Bhu-Bharathi land records.
The dispute involves Bhoodan lands associated with My Home Cements and Keerthi Cements and has continued since 2009.
The entire 631-acre survey number was placed on the 22-A prohibited properties list, affecting patta landowners for nearly 17 years.
Farmers want the orders implemented quickly so their patta lands can be removed from the prohibited list and become eligible for transactions and bank loans.
