Adilabad Officials Seek Resolution on ROFR Patta Land Issues

District officials in Adilabad will write a joint letter to the Telangana government seeking resolution of policy issues on ROFR patta lands and borewells in forest areas.
A central government social audit pilot of the Forest Rights Act, 2006, was held in Utnoor mandal villages from August 2 to 9, followed by a public hearing on August 11.
The audit covered beneficiaries in Dongachintha and Bheersaipet gram panchayats, where Adivasi farmers said they face difficulties cultivating podu lands.
Beneficiaries raised issues including transfer of pattas to legal heirs after a holder's death, delay in recognising community forest rights, and access to welfare schemes.
Officials said the process of transferring ROFR pattas to family members has been initiated and steps will be taken to extend welfare schemes fully to patta holders.
