Adilabad Collector assures full support to forest rights beneficiaries

Some families in India have special rights to use forest land, and the government is supposed to help them with farming and other benefits.

A leader in the Adilabad district, Mr. Rajarshi Shah, told these families that the government will fully support them.

He spoke at a big meeting called a 'social audit' in the town of Utnoor.

A social audit is a way for people to check whether government help is really reaching the right families.

The meeting looked at two village areas to find where the help was missing.

Farmers said they had problems getting money to grow crops and getting other help.

The leaders promised that farmers on forest land would get crop loans, seeds, fertilisers and a scheme called Rythu Bandhu.

They also started giving forest rights documents to family members when the original owner has passed away.

Widows and single women were told to apply for pensions.

The leaders explained the four important rights of the Forest Rights Act, 2006.
