Nellore Prepares for Grand Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations and Idol Immersion
Nellore is preparing for a five-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
The celebrations will run from September 14 to 18.
Many devotees are expected to visit the Ganesh Ghat for idol immersion.
Officials will check the cranes and large vehicles used to carry the idols.
They will also arrange water, food, electricity, medical help, sanitation and security.
A toll-free number will let people report problems.
Music, dance and spiritual programmes will take place during the festival.
The immersion day will include a Ganga aarti by Vedic scholars.
Officials also plan to build a permanent Ganesh Ghat next year.
