A car was driving on a steep, curvy mountain road that leads to the famous temple town of Tirumala.

The road has many sharp turns called hairpin bends.

On Friday, the car was going very fast when it went out of control near one of these bends.

It crashed through a metal railing and fell about 15 feet down into a gorge.

Sadly, a 70-year-old man named D.R. Satish Kumar from Karnataka died in the accident.

Five other people were hurt, including two children.

They were taken to SVIMS Hospital in Tirupati, where doctors said they were doing okay.

Police officers and temple security workers helped rescue the injured people and pull the damaged car out of the gorge.

The police have started an investigation to find out exactly why the accident happened.
