Trailer Driver Murdered on Mumbai-Nashik Highway; Steel Theft Probed
A man named Pawan Kumar Mahto drove a big truck called a trailer.
He was carrying heavy steel bars from one city to another.
Very early in the morning, he stopped his truck by the road to eat.
Some unknown people came up to him.
They may have wanted to steal his steel or rob him.
When he tried to stop them, they hurt him with a sharp weapon.
The police found blood inside the truck and on the road.
They rushed him to a hospital, but he sadly died.

Pawan Kumar Mahto, 35, a trailer driver from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, was murdered with a sharp-edged weapon on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway in Bhiwandi early Sunday.
He was transporting steel reinforcement bars from Jalna to Mumbai in trailer MH-46-BU-2110 for a Kalamboli-based transport company.
Around 2.30am, after crossing the Rajnoli flyover, Mahto stopped by the roadside to eat when unidentified men approached and allegedly attacked him during an attempted robbery or theft.
Bloodstains were found inside the trailer and on the road; Kongaon police rushed Mahto to a private hospital, where he died during treatment.
Police suspect a gang stealing steel bars from trucks operates along the highway; a murder case has been registered and the body was sent to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for post-mortem.
