Two Arrested in Bhiwandi Trailer Driver Murder Robbery Case
Police in Bhiwandi arrested two men accused of killing a trailer driver.
The driver was named Pawan Kumar Kaju Mahato.
Police said he was eating near his parked trailer early on August 16.
Two men allegedly tried to rob him.
When he resisted, they allegedly injured his neck with a knife.
He later died in a hospital.
Police studied about 150 CCTV cameras and used phone-related technical checks to find the suspects.
Police said both men later confessed to the crime.
Kongaoan police arrested Rameez Ansari and Mohammad Momin over the alleged killing of trailer driver Pawan Kumar Kaju Mahato.
Police said Mahato was attacked with a knife during an attempted robbery on August 16 near the Bhiwandi-Thane bypass road.
The suspects allegedly took cash and fled on a motorcycle after Mahato resisted.
Investigators examined footage from around 150 CCTV cameras and used technical surveillance to trace the suspects.
Police said the two accused confessed; Momin has 18 previous cases, while Ansari has one registered case.
