Bengaluru citizens call for pause on Hebbal short tunnel project

Some people who live in a big city called Bengaluru are worried about a road-building project called the 'short tunnel' near a place named Hebbal.

They love the green spaces there, including a big lake and a college campus with lots of grass and trees.

Many different kinds of birds live in these places.

The people are afraid that building the tunnel could hurt the birds and damage nature.

To show how they feel, they started a petition, which is a special list that people sign to show they agree.

Almost 6,000 people signed the petition.

In the petition, they ask the builders to stop putting up fences, digging holes, and cutting down trees.

Some people also held silent protests, which means they protested quietly without making noise.

The citizens hope the project will pause so the animals and green areas can be protected.
