Emergency Airway Procedure Saves 22-Year-Old Patient at KIMS Saveera
A 22-year-old man became very sick because a tumor and mucus were blocking his main breathing passage.
He was brought to KIMS Saveera Hospital unconscious.
Doctors put him on a machine to help him breathe.
Dr Yasho Vardhan Mangishetti performed a special procedure called rigid bronchoscopy.
He placed a small Y-shaped metal stent inside the airway.
The stent helped air reach both lungs again.
The patient improved quickly and no longer needed the breathing machine the next day.
He was later sent home for cancer-related follow-up care.
