Nashik Tantrik Arrested Over Extortion, Forced Daughter’s Engagement
Police in Maharashtra arrested a woman who allegedly claimed she could solve another woman’s problems through rituals.
The victim was a daily-wage worker from Dhule who reported health and money problems.
The accused allegedly told her that black magic or evil forces were affecting her family.
She allegedly demanded money and received a total of ₹1.60 lakh.
Police say the woman was also made to undergo frightening rituals in Nashik.
The accused allegedly told the victim to keep her daughter away from home for 40 days.
She later allegedly said the daughter should marry her son to end the family’s problems.
The daughter was reportedly engaged to the accused’s son on July 24, 2026.
The victim then sought help from an anti-superstition group and approached police.
