20 Tamil Nadu Police Personnel Felicitated with Prestigious Service Medals
Every year, India celebrates Independence Day, the day the country became free.
The government gives special awards to people who have worked very hard to help others.
This year, 20 police officers in the state of Tamil Nadu received medals.
Three very senior officers got the President's Medal for Distinguished Service, a very high honor for a truly outstanding career in policing.
Seventeen other officers received the Medal for Meritorious Service, which praises officers who have been dedicated and done an excellent job for a long time.
The officers work in many different areas, such as stopping crime, guarding the coast, fighting corruption and protecting people from cyber dangers.
They also work in intelligence and special security teams.
The Government of India gives these medals to show that the officers' hard work is noticed and appreciated.
The awards were announced from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu.

Recipients represent units including the Coastal Security Group, Crime Branch-CID, State Intelligence, Cyber Crime Wing, DVAC and Tamil Nadu Special Police.
