CJP's Dipke urges PM Modi to talk to Gen Z

Every year on 15 August, India celebrates Independence Day, and the Prime Minister gives a big speech from the Red Fort in New Delhi.

This year, a man named Abhijeet Dipke wants Prime Minister Narendra Modi to talk about young people, called Gen Z, in that speech.

Mr. Dipke leads a group called the Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP.

The group first became famous when people protested about leaked exam papers for the NEET medical test.

Mr. Dipke made a short 37-second video on Instagram asking Modi to explain what he is doing for India's youth.

He also asked young people around the country to make the same demand over the next week.

Mr. Dipke says CJP is a 'pressure group' and not a political party.

The group plans a National Listening Tour starting 1 September to meet young people across India.

CJP wants to create a 'Youth Reform Charter' from what it hears.

Mr. Dipke also said many Indians have lost trust in institutions like the judiciary, the Election Commission and the media.
