IIT Delhi Alumna Develops Battery-Powered Cold-Chain Refrigeration System
A team in India has built a special cooling machine for trucks.
It is meant to keep food and other goods cold while they are being transported.
The machine uses a lithium-ion battery instead of taking power from the truck’s engine.
This means the truck does not need to keep its engine running just to keep the goods cold.
The cooling can continue if the truck stops or breaks down.
