AIIA has started a six-month course to train people to support pregnant women and new mothers.

The course is called the Garbhini Mitra Course.

Students will learn about healthy food, safe exercises and emotional support.

They will also learn about caring for newborns, cleanliness and basic life support.

The course uses some Ayurvedic ideas about pregnancy and recovery.

These workers will not replace doctors or perform medical check-ups.

They will help women notice warning signs and reach doctors when needed.

The course is for adults who have completed Class 12.
