Triple Technical Failures Disrupt Mumbai Locals During Morning Rush

Trains are a very important way for people in Mumbai, a big city in India, to travel to work.

Thousands of passengers use the city's suburban trains every day.

These trains move along tracks with switches that help them change from one track to another, and these switches are called point machines.

On one Monday morning, three of these switches broke at almost the same time, in three different stations.

The broken switches were at Vasai Road, Dadar, and Goregaon.

When a switch breaks, trains cannot safely move between tracks, so they get stopped or delayed.

Because it was the busy morning rush hour, many people were delayed on their way to work.

Railway workers had to fix some switches by hand.

They worked quickly to repair the problems so trains could run normally again.
