The Darjeeling excise department raided an alleged fake liquor unit at Sadargach in Bidhannagar.
Officials seized 693 litres of fake Indian-made foreign liquor and 924 bottles containing 750ml each.
The raid uncovered 5,500 fake caps, 38,000 labels, 20,000 holograms and 1,718 empty bottles.
Spirit, caramel, flavouring agent, equipment, a cash-counting machine and two four-wheelers were also seized.
Local resident Biswajit Sarkar was arrested, while officials estimated the seized items’ value at ₹38.77 lakh.
