Nepal-Tibet Floods Leave Hundreds of Foreign Tourists Missing
Huge floods and landslides hit Nepal and nearby Tibet.
Roads and bridges were destroyed, making some places difficult for rescuers to reach.
More than 1,300 people were reported missing overall, including many tourists from other countries.
Nepal officials gave different early counts because agencies collected and checked information at different times.
One count said 570 tourists were missing, while a later count said 667.
Another report listed 579 missing tourists.
India had the largest reported number, but Indian officials and other reports gave different figures.
People from Australia, the United States, Britain, Canada, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan were also among those missing or unreachable.
Rescue teams continued searching for them.
