The Andhra Pradesh government has allowed people to register 9 lakh acres of freehold land.

Freehold land is land that can be privately held under the stated rules.

Revenue Minister Anagani Satyaprasad announced the decision in Vijayawada.

Officials will investigate problems involving another 4 lakh acres.

The government also removed 28 lakh acres from a list that restricted land registrations.

That land had been placed on the 22-A list in 2022.

Two government orders explain how land can be removed from or added to that list.

The government is also using a project called Mee Bhoomi–Blockchain to address land-rights problems.
