Naidu Launches Land Rights Programme, Cites Resurvey and Passbook Progress
Andhra Pradesh has started a programme called ‘Mee Bhoomi-Mee Hakku’ to help protect people’s land rights.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said land is important because it helps people earn a living.
The government says it has surveyed land in 8,234 villages.
It has also issued 36 lakh new land passbooks.
These passbooks have security features such as QR codes and electronic identity checks.
More than 16 lakh acres were reportedly removed from a list that restricted their use.
The government also says it is settling old land disputes and giving documents to families.
Naidu criticized the previous government and said his administration would focus on justice and development instead of political revenge.

Passbooks include the State emblem, e-KYC, QR codes and blockchain-based security features, according to the Chief Minister.
The programme also covers long-pending disputes, including ground-rent land claims and a 120-year-old dispute benefiting 1,416 residents.
