Art Exhibitions Explore Instinct, Forests and Unconventional Storytelling
Two art exhibitions are taking place in New Delhi and Mumbai.
The New Delhi show is called Sing.
No Cry.
It includes work by nine artists who experiment and avoid traditional artistic paths.
Some artists use sculpture or clay to explore hidden spaces, feelings and observations.
The Mumbai show is by Priyanka Aelay.
Her paintings are inspired by forests, folklore and stories from the Baalanagamma tale.
She uses acrylic paint on linen to make landscapes that can be real or imaginary.
Both exhibitions explore connections between nature, ideas and human experience.
Thapar Contemporary is showing the group exhibition Sing. No Cry, featuring nine artists including Basist Kumar, Katie Pratt, Vanita Gupta, Holly Hendry and Willa Hilditch.
Curated by Jasone Miranda-Bilbao and Vaibhav Raj Shah, Sing. No Cry explores instinct, experimentation and freedom beyond convention.
Holly Hendry’s site-responsive sculptures examine hidden spaces beneath surfaces, while Rahul Papaniya uses clay to express emotions and observations.
KYNKYNY’s Mumbai gallery is presenting Priyanka Aelay’s solo exhibition It Will Rain Again When We Meet.
Aelay’s paintings draw on forests, folklore and the Baalanagamma tale, using layered acrylic pigments on linen canvas to connect arboreal and underwater life.
