Art Is Very Fluid: Inside Annapurna Madipadiga’s New EkChitra Art Gallery · deccanchronicle.com

Annapurna Madipadiga has opened a new art gallery called EkChitra in Hyderabad.

The gallery is about 7,000 square feet large.

She wants people to stay with the art instead of quickly deciding whether to buy something.

Visitors will be able to attend book launches, film screenings, readings and conversations there.

Artists and students can use a permanent studio to learn and practise printmaking.

The first exhibition includes both young artists and more experienced artists.

Their work uses many materials and explores memories, landscapes and cultural ideas.

Madipadiga is also working on projects that document Telugu art history and bring art into heritage spaces such as stepwells.
