Naidu and Chouhan Launch 300,000-House Rural Housing Project
Andhra Pradesh has started a large program to build homes for people.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan marked the start of 300,000 houses in Burripalem.
The homes were approved under a national rural housing program after the state asked for them.
The event also began a trial using 3D printers that work with concrete to help build houses.
The trial will take place in Burripalem and Obulanayudupalem.
Reports differ on whether it includes 175 or 177 homes, and put its cost at about ₹14 crore.
The trial will examine how quickly and well the houses can be built and how much they cost.
Naidu said more homes could be approved in future, while the state says it has handed over 550,000 homes and is building 420,000 more.
