Arrested Pakistani national used co-accused's father's name for Indian IDs
A man named Wahab Alam is from Pakistan, a country that is not India.
The police say he sneaked into India in 2012, and that is against the law.
He wanted to look like an Indian citizen, so he got special Indian ID cards.
To get those cards, he used the name of his friend's father.
The police found out and arrested him in a town called Habra.
They think he was working for Pakistan's spy group, called the ISI.
They say he was asked to find out secrets about India's army, navy, and trains.
He also used many different phone cards to talk to the spies, throwing each one away after a short time.
Before he was caught, he tried to run away, and he planned to escape to Bangladesh.
Wahab Alam, a Pakistani national, was arrested in Habra, West Bengal, after illegally entering India in 2012 via Nepal.
An STF investigation found Alam used the name of co-accused Mohammad Izaz's father to obtain Indian Aadhaar, PAN and EPIC cards.
Alam was flagged under the 'logical discrepancy' category during West Bengal's Special Intensive Revision exercise and skipped a BLO hearing before fleeing.
He intended to escape to Bangladesh and was allegedly assigned by Pakistan's ISI to collect information on the Indian Army, Navy and Railways in the eastern sector.
Alam used multiple prepaid SIM cards, procured with his Indian documents, to contact his ISI handlers, destroying SIMs after a couple of communications.
