STF arrests Topsia man for aiding Pakistani national's fake documents
The police in Bengal have a special team called the Special Task Force, or STF.
They arrested a man named Imran Hussain who lives in Topsia.
The police think Imran helped a man from Pakistan named Rauf Rana get fake Indian documents.
Rana came to Calcutta in 2018.
Imran is accused of helping Rana get a fake voter card, PAN card and Aadhaar card.
He is also accused of helping Rana find a job at a furniture shop and a place to live.
The police think Rana may have been working for a Pakistani spy agency called the ISI.
They believe Rana was trying to gather information about military places like Fort William.
Rana was arrested last week in a place called Habra.
Now the police are trying to learn more about what Rana did in Calcutta.
Bengal Police's Special Task Force arrested Imran Hussain, a Topsia resident, for allegedly helping arrange fake Indian identity documents for suspected Pakistani national Rauf Rana.
Imran allegedly helped Rana obtain a fake voter card, PAN card and Aadhaar card after Rana arrived in Calcutta in 2018.
Imran allegedly arranged a job for Rana at a furniture-making shop, where he reportedly worked for around two months, and provided him accommodation in Topsia.
Rana, a resident of Hafizabad in Faisalabad district, Punjab, Pakistan, was arrested from Habra in North 24-Parganas last week.
Rana is suspected of being in touch with ISI operatives and recruiting sleeper cell members, with alleged intelligence targets including Fort William and military installations.
