Bhuleshwar Idol Collapse Kills Two During Ganesh Procession

Sanket Nevshe, president of the Bhuleshwar Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, died when a 22-foot Ganesh idol collapsed.
The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. Saturday near Kabutarkhana at Jay Ambe Chowk in Bhuleshwar.
Brijesh Hemant Joshi, 30, also died, while five others, including two young girls, were injured.
Hundreds of mourners attended Nevshe’s funeral procession on Sunday, with video of the event circulating on social media.
V.P. Road Police are investigating a possible technical failure, negligence, or safety lapses during transportation of the idol.
