New 9.6-km Metro Corridor Could Connect Thane, Mumbra, Diva, Dombivli
Changing City: Thane to Dombivli in a metro? New 9.6-km corridor could connect four key hubs · indianexpress.com

People who travel between four busy towns near Mumbai — Thane, Mumbra, Diva and Dombivli — may soon get a new train line.

The new train is called a metro, and it would be about 9.6 kilometres long.

Part of the ride would be in a tunnel under the ground.

The rest of the ride would be on tracks above the ground.

The metro would connect four growing neighbourhoods.

It would also link to big railway networks, including a super-fast train that goes to Ahmedabad and another metro line.

Having more ways to travel could make the daily journey easier for many people.

Leaders in the state government discussed the plan in October of last year.

The idea is still being planned, so people are waiting to see if it will really be built.
