Kerala to launch 'My Police Station' initiative on Aug 14
The government of Kerala, a state in India, is starting a new program called 'My Police Station'.
The program will officially begin on August 14.
It wants to make police stations friendlier places where people feel safe and respected.
Police stations should become service centers that are helpful to everyone who visits.
The government also wants to stop bad practices, like hurting people who are held by the police.
There will be special help desks for women, children, older people, transgender people, people with disabilities, and people who have faced online crimes.
People will also be able to get copies of FIRs and use online services more easily.
Police officers have already started training for this new program.
The Chief Minister of Kerala, V D Satheesan, will officially start the program at a police station in Thiruvananthapuram.
Kerala's 'My Police Station' initiative will be launched on August 14 at the Peroorkada police station in Thiruvananthapuram.
