Tirupati Opens ₹2.70 Crore Model Women’s Police Station
Tirupati has opened a new police station designed especially to help women.
Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha inaugurated it with other officials.
The building has private areas where women can speak to police.
It also has counsellors to help with some family and marital problems.
A play area and nursing facilities are available for women who bring young children.
Psychiatrists will provide help twice a week.
A cyber help desk will work all day and night to handle online harassment and digital crimes.
Officials said reported crimes against women fell from 94 last year to 58 this year.
Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha inaugurated a new model women’s police station in Tirupati on Monday.
The two-storey facility cost ₹2.70 crore and covers 8,480 square feet.
It offers counselling, private interview counters, trained women officers, child-friendly and nursing facilities.
Psychiatric services will be available twice weekly, while a cyber help desk will operate 24/7.
Officials said recorded crimes against women declined from 94 last year to 58 this year.
