Delhi Destroys Over 2,800 Kilograms of Unsafe Festive Food

Delhi officials checked food markets before the festive season became busier.

They found large amounts of food that looked spoiled or had been left in dirty conditions.

About 2,830 kilograms of khoya, dhaap and butter were destroyed after nobody claimed them.

Tests found that all 10 khoya and cream samples from Mori Gate did not meet safety requirements.

At Janakpuri Mandi, some paneer samples tested positive for detergent.

Officials destroyed about 150 kilograms of paneer and 10 kilograms of khoya there.

The health minister said inspections will continue during the festive season.

The checks are meant to help keep unsafe food away from consumers.
