Govt says EC carries out internal quality checks during SIR

I will explain this story in a simple way.

There is a list of people who are allowed to vote, called a voter list.

Some people in Delhi, a big city in India, could not find their names on the voter list from 2002.

They told the government about this problem.

The government asked a minister named Arjun Ram Meghwal to answer.

He said the Election Commission checks its work at every step of making the list.

The Commission checks the work of booth-level officers and samples the list for mistakes.

The list is also shown to the public and to political parties.

People can raise complaints if they see problems.

The Commission looks at these complaints and fixes the valid ones before the final voter list is published.
