Lokesh Inaugurates Two Modernized Government Schools in Nellore
Nara Lokesh opened two improved government schools in Nellore.
One school is in Stonehousepet, and the other is in Moolapet.
The schools now have better classrooms, digital screens, laboratories and libraries.
Students also have rooms for art, music and languages.
New playgrounds and sports courts were added.
The improvements cost more than ₹21.7 crore in total, although reports give slightly different figures for the DSR school.
Lokesh asked staff to increase enrolment, attendance and learning results.
He also encouraged parents to choose government schools for their children.
Education Minister Nara Lokesh inaugurated renovated RSR High School in Stonehousepet and DSR Government High School in Moolapet, Nellore, on Wednesday.
The RSR school received ₹8.3 crore from the VPR Foundation and now has 43 classrooms, digital screens, laboratories, activity rooms and sports facilities.
The DSR school was rebuilt with about ₹13.34 crore to ₹13.41 crore in CSR and philanthropic support, according to differing reports.
Lokesh reviewed enrolment, attendance, learning outcomes and Class X results, citing RSR’s 60.19% pass rate last year and attendance concerns at DSR.
The projects are part of an initiative to modernize 15 Nellore government schools and provide facilities comparable to private and corporate schools.
