Reserved Students’ MBBS Open-Category Seats Allegedly Denied Admission
A group representing doctors from the YSRCP says some reserved-category students were treated unfairly during MBBS admissions.
They say these students had ranks good enough for Open Category seats.
In the AU region, the Open Category cut-off rank was 71,547.
The group says 43 better-ranked reserved-category students were given reserved seats instead.
In the SVU region, the cut-off was 94,966.
It says 27 higher-ranked reserved students were not considered for Open Category seats there.
The group wants the admissions process corrected.
It also says reservation should help representation without blocking students who qualify through merit.
The YSRCP Doctors Wing alleged that meritorious reserved-category students were not considered for Open Category MBBS seats.
In the AU region, the Open Category cut-off rank was reported as 71,547.
The group claimed 43 reserved-category candidates with better ranks were allotted reserved seats instead of Open Category seats in AU.
In the SVU region, the Open Category cut-off was reported as 94,966, with 27 higher-ranked reserved candidates allegedly denied consideration.
