PM vows to develop India by 2047 in I-Day speech

India celebrates Independence Day every year to remember the day it became free.

This year was the 80th Independence Day.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, gave a big speech from the Red Fort, an old fort in Delhi.

He said India should dream big and try to become a developed country by the year 2047.

A developed country is one that is modern and prosperous for its people.

He asked everyone in India to set big goals and work hard toward them.

He talked about good things the government has done, like giving people clean water, cooking gas, and toilets.

He also said India's economy has become much stronger over the past 12 years.

He told Indians that no one can stop the resolve of 140 crore people.

For the first time since Independence, the national song was played during the ceremony, and he said the Indian flag is flying in every home.
